Kitchen Porter

Perth

Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: 12.21 per hour
Hours: per week

A co-educational independent boarding school in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, for children aged between 12 and 18 years. Catering for just under 400 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch, and Supper with some high-end hospitality and summer lets as well. As this is a boarding school, it operates 7 days a week, so working patterns would be 5 out of 7 days. There is free parking available at the school.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Perth.

You'll play a key role in maintaining the kitchen's hygiene, safety, and cleanliness to high standards.

Key skills:

• Experience with pot wash duties is an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Assist chefs with food prep
• Maintain high cleanliness standards at all times
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
• Clean heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials, including air filters and extraction systems
• Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

• Experience as a Kitchen Porter is preferred but not essential
• A can-do attitude
• Strong organizational skills

Knowledge / competencies:

• Good understanding and use of verbal English
• Good standard of written English and reading skills
• Experience in customer service or food preparation environment is preferred
