Equated pay(sometimes known as spread-over pay) is a method of paying you for your contracted hours, working weeks, and holiday pay spread over 12 months instead of just receiving pay during the months that you work and none during the school closures/non-working weeks. This means that you get paid equal amounts every month. Further information will be supplied at the interview stage.

As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo in Notting Hill Preparatory School, Lancaster Road, London, W11 1QQ, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, helping to maintain cleanliness, manage deliveries, and support the team during school events and functions. Our kitchen is based in the heart of Notting Hill, one of London's most iconic and lively areas. The school is close to Ladbroke Grove Station (Hammersmith & City Line), with excellent bus routes, including the 7, 23, and 52, making it an easy commute. The area is famous for Portobello Road Market, a fantastic selection of cafes, shops, and green spaces, making it a great place to work.

What You’ll Do:

• Dishwashing & Cleaning: Ensure all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and properly stored throughout the day. Maintain a high standard of hygiene during and after the single lunchtime service.
• Lunchtime Service Support: Assist the kitchen team by keeping workstations tidy, disposing of waste, and ensuring smooth operations during the busy lunchtime period.
• End-of-Service Clean Down: Clear and clean the kitchen and serving areas after lunchtime, ensuring everything is reset for the next day.
• Stock & Deliveries:Receive, check, and correctly store deliveries, following stock rotation procedures to maintain freshness and food safety.
• General Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure surfaces, floors, and storage areas are kept clean and meet food hygiene standards throughout the day.
• Event Support: Help set up, manage, and clear down catering equipment (such as glassware, crockery, and service stations) for school events, meetings, and special functions.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
