The National Army Museum invites visitors to explore the Battle of Waterloo and learn about military life. The museum features a variety of events, military artefacts, and offers views of Sir John Soane’s Grade II listed stables and the Royal Chelsea Hospital.

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to support the Kitchen Team in daily operations. As a Searcys Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and assisting with basic food preparation.

Salary: £13.15 per hour

Main Purpose

The Kitchen Porter ensures the smooth operation of catering services by maintaining cleanliness and supporting the kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work flexibly across kitchens, serveries, staff canteens, and reception areas.
2. Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all kitchen and service areas.
3. Organise and keep catering storage areas clean.
4. Receive, inspect, store, and dispense goods and equipment.
5. Assist with food preparation and service when needed.
6. Report incidents, accidents, or irregularities promptly.
7. Report broken equipment to the Head Chef.
8. Follow all policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including hygiene and COSHH standards.

Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and teamwork skills, is important.
