Job summary

Avanti Schools Trust in Leicester is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a busy school catering operation. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist with food prep and meal packing, and ensure timely provision of meals for pupils and staff.

The role requires adherence to food safety and health & safety procedures, stock control, and close collaboration with the catering team. A DBS check and safeguarding commitment are expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen areas and storage spaces.
• Support the kitchen team with food preparation, meal packing and timely provision of meals.
• Receive, handle, store and rotate deliveries with accurate stock control and waste management.
• Collaborate with the Chef Manager to ensure smooth, high-quality catering service delivery.
• Follow all food safety, health and safety procedures and report hazards promptly.
