Job summary

Bankside Hotel in London is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support daily kitchen operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness. You will assist with food prep, handle deliveries, and ensure a smooth service flow in a busy hotel kitchen.

The role offers an entry-level opportunity within a renowned hospitality brand and includes on-site benefits for team members and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• A good level of English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sterilise counters, walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks.
• Clean the kitchen after service so it's ready for the next day.
• Maintain food storage areas like freezers and fridges.
• Receive deliveries and organise them in the kitchen.
• Wash dishes or load into the dishwasher.
• Remove and dispose of kitchen waste properly.
• Clean and maintain cooking equipment such as cookers and mixers.
• Assist the Chef with basic prep: cutting, peeling and washing.
• Support Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff as needed.

What will you be doing?

• Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
• Cleaning the entire kitchen once it is closed to ensure it is ready for the next day
• Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
• Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
• Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
• Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
• Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
• Supporting the Chef in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
• Providing assistance to Prep Cooks and other kitchen staff, as needed
