Job summary

The Coal Shed London is hiring a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. You will support chefs to deliver high-quality dishes using fresh ingredients and help keep everything clean and running smoothly.

• Ensures all pots, pans, crockery, glassware, utensils and kitchen equipment are cleaned to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Keep the kitchen, wash-up area, stores and back-of-house areas clean, organised and well maintained.
• Complete regular deep cleaning of kitchen equipment, floors and walls.
• Support chefs with basic food preparation and kitchen duties as required.
• Ensure clean equipment and utensils are available throughout service.
• Assist with deliveries, storage and stock movement in the kitchen.
• Manage waste and recycling, keeping bins and waste areas clean and tidy.
• Follow Health & Safety, Food Safety, COSHH and cleaning procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.

We are looking for a Kitchen Porterto join our team at The Coal Shed.

The Coal Shed London celebrates coal-roasted rare breed heritage meat and South Coast seafood, inspired by Founder Raz Helalat’s Persian roots by cooking over fire.
Located moments away from Tower Bridge, the restaurant offers a seasonal a la carte menu, daily specials, sharing fish and meat dishes, and an award-winning Sunday sharing roast.
Occupying two floors, The Coal Shed London is a modern open-plan grill restaurant with a private dining room and cocktail bar.

The Role

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll be a vital member of the kitchen team, supporting our chefs to deliver high-quality dishes made from fresh, carefully sourced ingredients.

You’ll play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring the team has the clean equipment, utensils and workspace they need to deliver an excellent service.

This is a busy and hands-on role, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

• Maintains a professional and positive manner, even during busy services
• Takes pride in maintaininghigh standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organization
• Is flexible and willing to go the extra mile to support the team
• Is eligible to work full-time in the UK
