About the Venues

Kearsney Abbey Café is nestled in the heart of the stunning Kearsney Abbey Park, an oasis of calm with lakes, landscaped gardens, and a rich Victorian heritage. It’s a favourite spot for families, dog walkers, and nature lovers alike.

Maison Dieu, a magnificent medieval building in the centre of Dover, which has just undergone a major restoration and transformation into a vibrant cultural and community event space. It’s a place where history meets hospitality, and you could be part of its exciting new chapter!

The Role: Casual Kitchen Porter

We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to support our kitchen teams at both venues. You’ll be the backbone of our kitchen operations, keeping things clean, organised, and running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Keeping kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils spotless and safe
  • Assisting with basic food prep
  • Replenishing consumables and maintaining stock levels
  • Supporting chefs and front-of-house during busy periods
  • General duties like pot washing, clearing tables, sweeping/mopping, and waste removal

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Friendly, helpful team players who are punctual, honest, and enthusiastic
  • Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays)
  • No experience? No problem! Full training provided
  • Bonus if you’ve worked in a kitchen before or understand COSHH guidelines
  • Willingness to work across both venues in Dover
