Qualifications

Job description

An independent boarding and day school for girls aged 11-18 in Ascot, Berkshire, catering for 300 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of breakfast, lunch, supper, AM snack, and afternoon snack. This is a term-time plus contract working 38 weeks plus 5 weeks over the summer. This is a 7-day operation, so the working pattern will be 5 days out of 7, including some weekends during term time. Additional benefit to this location is free parking on site.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for 2 x Kitchen Porters to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Ascot.

Position Details:

  1. We are looking for 2 full-time positions, one role will be on a rota of early and late shifts, working 5 days from 7, 40hrs per week.
  2. The 2nd role is for an evening and weekend position, working 40 hrs per week but working every weekend during term time.

You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

Key skills:

  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Great team player.
  • Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times.
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher.

We are looking for:

  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Organisation Skills.

Knowledge / competencies:

  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
  • Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred.
