Job summary

Putteridge Primary School is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead the school kitchen, delivering healthy, nutritious menus that meet government guidelines and support a high-quality learning environment.

You will manage a small team, oversee budgets and stock orders, plan menus, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure smooth, compliant operations within a school setting.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in large-scale industrial catering and kitchen management.
• Able to manage budgets, stock orders, menu planning and suppliers.
• Able to run a small team with clear communication and cohesion.
• Ensure methods of preparation and presentation comply with current standards and food safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team and provide inspiring, healthy, nutritious menus for children and staff.
• Effectively manage budgets, stock orders, menu planning and supplier relations.
• Plan menus that meet government guidelines and quality standards.
• Ensure food safety and catering standards compliance across all operations.

We are looking for an experienced and innovative Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team and provide our children and staff with inspiring, healthy and nutritious menus, with food that meets all government guidelines and inspires our school community to come back for more.

In order to do this, you will:

• Hold a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
• Have experience in working in large scale industrial catering or similar, and have experience in kitchen management
• Be able to effectively manage budgets, stocks orders, menu planning, dealing with suppliers.
• Be able to effectively run a small team, ensuring clear communication and cohesion
• Ensure that methods of preparation and presentation comply with current recognised catering standards and food safety legislation
