Job summary

Slug And Lettuce is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen team at Derby’s Slug And Lettuce, focusing on high culinary standards and safe, efficient operations.

You will coach and mentor the kitchen team, ensure compliance with COSHH, Food Safety and H&S requirements, and drive continuous improvement in service and performance. This role emphasizes inclusive hiring and development within a dynamic pub environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team and coaching staff.
• Strong food knowledge and up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety and H&S knowledge.
• Proven ability to hire onboard and develop a kitchen team in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Hiring and onboarding of new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
• Leading, guiding, and developing your kitchen team with ongoing training and growth opportunities.
• Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety, creating a safe workspace.
• Managing the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing and labor targets.
• Conducting regular stock checks to manage costs and meet performance goals.
• Fostering strong relationships between kitchen and front-of-house to drive sales.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this leadership role, you'll play a key part in shaping our kitchen operations, maintaining high standards, supporting and developing the kitchen team at Slug And Lettuce.
