Job summary

Stonegate Group is seeking a Kitchen Manager for Ye Olde George in Christchurch. You will lead the kitchen team, maintain high standards of food safety, and drive operational excellence at a busy pub environment.

You will hire, train, and develop staff, oversee scheduling and stock, and work closely with front-of-house to enhance guest experiences around all-day service and events.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team in a busy pub/restaurant.
• Up-to-date COSHH, Food Safety and health & safety knowledge.
• Ability to hire, onboard and develop kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Hire and onboard new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.
• Lead, guide and develop your kitchen team with ongoing training and growth opportunities.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety, and keep a safe, organized workspace.
• Manage the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing and meet labour targets.
• Conduct regular stock checks to support cost management and performance goals.
• Foster strong relationships between kitchen and front-of-house to drive sales.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Kitchen Manager or Kitchen Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. In this leadership role, you'll play a key part in shaping our kitchen operations, maintaining high standards, supporting and developing the kitchen team at Ye Olde George.

Some of the things you’ll be doing as a Kitchen Manager

• Hiring and onboarding of new team members in an inclusive and welcoming manner.

• Maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety, creating a safe and organised workspace for all.
• Managing the kitchen schedule to ensure efficient staffing while meeting labour targets.
• Conducting regular stock checks to ensure cost management and meet performance goals.
• Taking a proactive approach to increasing sales and driving growth by fostering strong relationships between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
