The Role

Kitchen Fitter FTC!

Due to continued successful growth here at Fortem, we are looking for an experienced Kitchen Fitter to join our new Planned Works team at Amplius Housing in Rushden, Northamptonshire.

This role involves ripping out and reinstalling brand new kitchens in Amplius social housing properties. You will be working directly for Fortem on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026.

There is a possibility this may become a permanent opportunity, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Core hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Company van, fuel card, power tools, uniform, and PPE are all provided!

As an experienced Kitchen Fitter, you will work efficiently to fully reinstall kitchens according to plans, deadlines, and budgets. You will ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimal supervision, taking ownership of your tasks, aiming for timely completion, operating within company health and safety guidelines, and remaining within budget and time constraints while maintaining professionalism on site.

The Customer

Fortem's successful contract with Amplius supports approximately 8,000 homes. Our contract includes repairs & maintenance, voids, complex works, FRA workstreams, planned works, and preventative maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete full kitchen refits/ installations for planned works within deadline and budget.
  • Advise supervisor promptly when additional trades are required.
  • Collaborate with other operatives to complete projects.
  • Record and submit accurate data using relevant business systems and electronic devices.
  • Provide excellent customer service to client representatives.
  • Arrange purchase of materials needed to deliver works efficiently.
  • Comply with safeguarding policies and health & safety standards at all times.
  • Operate within company policies on occupational road risk.
  • Use a PDA smartphone to communicate daily updates on progress and completion.

What you will need

Essential:

  • NVQ/qualifications related to trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) or equivalent; Kitchen Fitting experience considered.
  • Full driving license (max 5 points); desirable but not essential: social housing experience.
