Job summary

Brainkind is seeking a part-time Kitchen Assistant in Glasgow to support daily meal preparation for service users. You will work with the Chef to ensure nutritious meals are prepared with high hygiene standards.

Shifts run from 10am to 3pm, with a pay rate of £13.91 per hour. Training and support are provided, and you will join a dedicated team focused on compassionate care for people with brain injuries.

The role:

To assist in the daily preparation of cooked nutritious meals for service users ensuring food is of a high quality, and to work alongside the Chef and Cook.

Your main duties would include:

• Assisting in the planning and preparation a varied choice of menus, ensuring properly balanced and nutritious meals are provided, taking into account any special dietary requirements and service user preferences.


• Assisting in ensuring that the storage, preparation and cooking of all food is carried out using the highest standards of hygiene.


• Being responsible for the storage and use of cleaning items in accordance with COSHH.
