Moat Hall Primary Academy

Kitchen Assistant

PERMANENT – Part time

18 hours a week. Start time to be confirmed but finish at 1.30pm

Grade 2 – Term Time only

Start date: 1st September 2025

Moat Hall Primary Academy is a family orientated primary school and nursery that is growing at a rapid rate. We currently have 380 children on roll aged from 2 to 11 years.

Located in the village of Great Wyrley, the Academy has access to outstanding grounds and a spacious building.

The main purpose of the role will be to assist in the preparation of food and beverages within the school, ensuring a clean and safe environment for pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals to pupils and staff
  • Ensure food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperature
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, always following food safety regulations
  • Wash up dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently
  • Set up and clear down the dining area before and after service
  • Assist with the receipt, checking, and storage of deliveries
  • Dispose of rubbish and recycling in accordance with school procedures
  • Report any kitchen equipment faults or health and safety concerns to the Catering Manager
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures as set out by the school and statutory requirements
  • Assist with any other reasonable tasks as requested by the Catering Manager
  • Undertake training relevant to the role
