Job Description

Our friendly team at Meallmore is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the team at Forthland Lodge Care Home in Edinburgh. Located close to the city centre, Forthland Lodge offers residents safe and comfortable surroundings in a purpose-built nursing home.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will receive a comprehensive induction, mentorship, and ongoing training to support your career development, whether aspiring to become a Second Chef or Head Chef.

Your role as a Meallmore Kitchen Assistant will include:
  • Keeping the kitchen areas clean and tidy
  • Supporting the catering team with food preparation for seasonal meals
  • Cleaning and sanitising all food preparation areas according to hygiene standards
  • Assisting with specialist dietary requirements
  • Serving nutritional meals
Required skills:
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
