Job summary

Heritage Portfolio in Edinburgh is seeking Kitchen Assistants to support the Central Production Kitchen in Leith. You will help with food prep, maintain cleanliness, and assist chefs to ensure smooth service at busy venues across Scotland’s cultural destinations.

Full training is provided in a busy environment with a focus on hygiene and safety. Casual hours are available, with opportunity to work across the wider business during peak times.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Understanding of food hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic food preparation and kitchen duties
• Washing and cleaning equipment, utensils and work areas
• Supporting chefs and other kitchen staff as required
• Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean, tidy and organised
• Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Receiving, storing and rotating food deliveries where required
• Helping with general kitchen duties to ensure service runs smoothly
