Job summary

Maypole Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the daily meal service for residents. You will help chefs plate meals, prepare food trolleys and maintain clean, compliant prep areas within a care home setting.

Ideal candidates will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and have previous kitchen experience. The role offers a supportive team environment and opportunities to contribute to a high-standard dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen in a care home is preferred.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Ability to plate meals and support chefs in meal prep.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with plating meals and preparing food trolleys.
• Keep preparation areas clean, tidy and hygienic.
• Monitor stock rotation and comply with COSHH/HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events and special occasions.
