Job Description

As a Kitchen Assistant, your role is to support our Chefs by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety in all catering areas. You are essential to our culinary operations, ensuring smooth kitchen functioning.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing simple meals and ancillary items under the Chef's guidance
• Washing dishes by hand or using the dishwasher, storing items safely to prevent breakages
• Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to keep them free of grease or spills
• Cleaning work tables, walls, equipment, and appliances per schedules
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and transferring it between storage and work areas
• Keeping the kitchen tidy, secure, removing rubbish, and storing supplies properly
• Following Food Safety and Health & Safety policies, maintaining HACCP records

Qualifications & Skills

Understanding of Health and Safety, maintaining a hygienic environment, and ideally holding an up-to-date CIEH Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent. Previous experience in catering or kitchens, preferably in a care setting, managing stock, and preparing simple meals. Organized, adaptable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
