As a Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities include preparing and serving nutritious, healthy meals that residents will enjoy. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be on resident wellbeing.
We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience. Ideally, you will have an NVQ Level 2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or be willing to study for one. Good record-keeping and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes. When communicating with residents and colleagues, kindness and consideration are paramount.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond appropriately. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and to undertake additional training as needed. You should also feel confident in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
