About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals that residents love, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities may include managing food supplies, demonstrating equipment use to new starters, or cleaning spills, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We look for candidates with some kitchen experience, preferably holding an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willing to study for one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are paramount.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns appropriately.
