Job Description:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in the smooth running of our kitchen. You will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team by ensuring all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitised, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen areas, and assisting with various tasks as needed. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent attention to detail and a positive, can-do attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards
• Assist chefs with food preparation and stock rotation
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
• Empty bins and dispose of waste in a hygienic and safe manner
• Help to store deliveries and ensure kitchen inventory is well-organized
• Assist with general cleaning duties, including floors, walls, and equipment
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient operation

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience as a kitchen porter or in a similar role is preferred but not essential
• A strong work ethic with the ability to work well under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Flexible and willing to assist in other areas of the kitchen as required
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
