Job summary

Avery Healthcare's Virginia Water Care Home in Surrey is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support the catering function and maintain high hygiene in the kitchen.

You will prepare meals, assist with beverages, and ensure a safe, friendly dining experience for residents. DBS check required, eligibility to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety; moving and handling, Fire Safety, COSHH.
• Efficient with high physical effort and able to handle demanding workload.
• Demonstrates initiative and flexible team working.
• Caring attitude towards residents.

We’re now looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to join our award-winning team as a Kitchen Assistant at Virginia Water Care Home in Surrey.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Kitchen Assistant is to support the catering function in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive service is delivered to residents.

• Understanding the principles of safe food handling, to ensure all food preparations undertaken in the kitchen is to the highest standards of hygiene.
• Contributingfully to team working, responding positively tocolleagues,and actioning all reasonable work instructions promptly.
• Advisingon the supply and quality of items used to carry out tasks, ensuring thetimelyandappropriate orderingof replacement goods.
• Actingaccordingly towards residents and their visitors, respecting the dignity and individuality of each resident.
