Job summary

Bupa’s Allington Court Care Home in Bricket Wood, near St Albans, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant on a permanent part-time basis. You will support the kitchen team by assisting chefs to plate meals, prepare food trolleys, and keep preparation areas clean.

You should have a passion for food and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, with good communication to work with residents and care home staff. The role offers £13.30 per hour and flexible, part-time hours.

• A passion for food with previous kitchen experience and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Deliver an excellent dining experience and help residents feel at home.
• Communicate well with kitchen and care home teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the link between the main kitchen and residents; assist chefs to plate meals.
• Assist with food prep, plate meals, prepare trolleys, and keep areas clean.
• Monitor stock rotation and follow COSHH/HACCP guidelines.
• Assist with catering for events such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
