Job summary

Pennine Garden Centre in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly, energetic team. You will assist the kitchen with meal prep, maintain cleanliness, and support with deliveries and stock checks while upholding food safety standards.

Shifts are Thursday and Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with onsite parking and staff discounts. You’ll work in a collaborative environment that values quality and customer service, with opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering, kitchen or food preparation.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and cleanliness.

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment as required.
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties to meet business needs.

Job description

Are you an experienced Kitchen Assistant, looking for a challenge within a dynamic and enthusiastic team? Then you’re the person we are looking for!

We are looking for someone to work alongside our team at Pennine Garden Centre to deliver a GREAT level of service. In this role you will be required to assist the kitchen team in preparing and cooking meals, keep the environment clean and safe by supporting the team with various duties such as mopping, washing up, cleaning surfaces and kitchen equipment and ensuring that all food safety and sanitation standards are met. You will also support with stock count and inbound deliveries.

This role will be working every Thursday and Friday from 8:00am until 4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Skills Knowledge and Expertise:

The ideal Kitchen Assistant is someone who:

• Have previous experience in a catering, kitchen or food preparation role.
• Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable).
• Have knowledge of food safety, allergens and good kitchen practices.
• Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
• Be committed to delivering high standards of quality and customer service.
