ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard-working, and friendly catering team. Your role will involve creating delicious meals, snacks, and drinks for our residents. You’ll get to know our residents, understand their preferences, and make mealtimes a highlight of their day.

By joining us, you’ll become part of our extended family. You’ll work alongside other team members who are dedicated to providing care, warmth, and kindness to everyone in our homes.

Located in the historic Old Sarum, just north of Salisbury, Avon Court and Bourne House are part of Avonbourne Care Centre. Each offers an elegant environment with compassionate, individualized care in welcoming, relaxing, and homely settings.

No prior formal catering experience is required as we will provide training. However, holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about cooking, maintains high kitchen hygiene standards, and has a positive, can-do attitude. Good communication skills and a passion for providing excellent service to our residents are essential.

You should be comfortable engaging with elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy working as part of the wider team.

AND IN RETURN

The Trust is a great place to work; we’ve been providing care for almost a century and are currently the second-largest not-for-profit provider in the UK. We reinvest all profits into our residents, colleagues, and care homes. We offer a competitive salary, training, and development opportunities.

Benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)
  • Free uniform
  • Free DBS
  • Higher pay rates at weekends
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme
  • Blue Light Card and “My Rewards” discounts on shopping, dining, and entertainment
