Job summary

Orders of St. John Care Trust is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for our Burnham-based home. You will help prepare meals, snacks and drinks for residents, tailoring dishes to preferences and dietary needs.

You’ll work closely with a friendly catering team to ensure meals are served warmly and on time. No previous catering experience is required, as full training is provided. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is advantageous, and you will contribute to high kitchen hygiene standards and resident

Qualifications

• No formal catering experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is helpful but not essential.
• You should enjoy cooking and keeping kitchen hygiene high.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re currently recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to join our passionate, hard-working and friendly catering team, to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents. You’ll get to know our residents, understand their likes and dislikes so that mealtimes are always a highlight of their day

Located in the heart of Burnham, close to Slough and Maidenhead, Lent Rise House offers high-quality nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia. Our focus is on delivering person-centred support in a warm, inclusive and homely setting. We also offer respite stays for individuals or carers in need of short-term support, all within a modern home designed for safety, comfort and wellbeing.

ABOUT YOU

You don’t need to have previous formal catering experience, as we’ll give you the training you need, although it would be helpful if you hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. What we’re looking for is someone who is keen on cooking and takes pride in kitchen hygiene standards. You’ll have a positive can-do approach, with good communication skills and you’ll be passionate about ensuring our residents receive the best service possible.

You’ll be confident in engaging with our elderly residents to understand their individual needs and enjoy being part of the wider team in the home.
