Job summary

Bourton Hall is looking for a Casual Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our hardworking and friendly kitchen team in Rugby. This role involves physical work and dishwashing, but also offers a genuine entry path into a professional kitchen with from-scratch cooking and skilled chefs.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning the kitchen to prepare for the next day.
• Maintaining storage areas including fridges and freezers.
• Receiving deliveries and organising stock.
• Washing dishes, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
• Removing kitchen waste and disposing of it safely.
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment such as cookers and mixers.
• Assisting chefs with basic food preparation.
• Supporting kitchen team during service.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning the kitchen to ensure it is ready for the next day
• Maintaining food storage areas, including fridges and freezers
• Receiving deliveries and organising stock correctly
• Washing dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher
• Removing kitchen waste and disposing of it safely
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment such as cookers and food mixers
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping ingredients)
• Assisting the kitchen team as required during service
