Job summary

Matthew Moss High School is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join the school kitchen team. The role is 12.5 hours per week, term-time only, 12.00pm to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, with permanent status.

You will help provide healthy meals for learners, follow health and safety standards, and work well within a supportive team environment. Training and CPD are offered.

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of Health and Safety and school policies.
• Excellent communication skills for verbal and written instructions.
• Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
• Clear spoken English to assist customers and service users.

Responsibilities

• Washing up and cleaning to a high standard.
• Food preparation and service.
• Certificate training provided if needed; ideally Basic Food Hygiene.
• Contribute toward our transformational ethos in a busy school kitchen.

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our welcoming school kitchen team. This position is offering the opportunity to work as part of a supportive team while helping to provide healthy and enjoyable meals for our learners.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety and be committed to adhering to school policies and procedures
• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of verbal and written instructions.
• Have the ability to work as a member of a team and on their own initiative without supervision.
• Having the ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.

• Washing up and cleaning to a high standard
• Food preparation and service
• Ideally the candidate will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, however training will be provided for the successful candidate.
