Job summary

Woldhaven Care Home in Pocklington is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly catering team delivering nutritious meals and excellent service to residents. Shifts run between 7:00am and 6:00pm on a four‑week rolling rota, with 2 weekends in every 4 and Bank Holiday work required.

Training is provided to support a positive dining experience for older people. The role offers a competitive hourly rate with enhanced pay for weekends and Bank Holidays, plus uniform and paid

  • Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Woldhaven Care Home is a warm, welcoming care home for older people in Pocklington. We are proud to have been rated "Good" by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) this year, reflecting our commitment to providing high-quality care and support for our residents.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and engaging Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly catering team. This is a rewarding role where you will help provide nutritious meals and excellent service to our residents every day.

Main Duties

  • Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
  • Support the Cook and wider kitchen team as required.
  • Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Help ensure residents' dietary needs and preferences are met.

Hours and Working Pattern

Shifts worked between 7:00am and 6:00pm, with 6:00pm being the latest finish.

Working on a 4-week rolling rota.

The rota includes 2 weekends out of every 4 weeks.

Bank Holiday working is required as part of the rota.

Pay and Benefits
