Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Group is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. This full-time role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across all year round, with additional support in different rooms as part of our nursery staff team.

You will assist the Nursery Chef in preparing healthy, nutritious meals for children, uphold strict hygiene and safety standards, follow COSHH procedures, and ensure correct food and allergens are observed.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen environment.
• Cooking with fresh ingredients using a set menu and recipes.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 (Required).
• Knowledge and experience of health and safety standards is desirable.
• Hardworking and organised team player.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Cook/Chef to prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
• Ensuring that hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen is of the highest standard in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation.
• Following COSHH procedures.
• Ensuring that children are served the correct food, being aware of allergies at all times.
• Receiving and unloading food and equipment deliveries.

Job description

We are currently looking for a friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. This role is 40 hours a week across Monday to Friday (all year round). There will also be a requirement to be supporting in our different rooms, being part of the nursery staff team., To assist and support the Nursery Chef in day-to-day catering duties, providing the nursery children with balanced, healthy and nutritious meals, and to adhere to Health and Safety policy and procedure at all times, observing cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
