About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning equipment, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. Attendance at safeguarding training is mandatory, along with ongoing education in related areas. You should be able to seek advice and escalate concerns appropriately.
