Empowering Learning Group is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant for a Durham school kitchen. You will support meal prep, serving, cleaning and dining area setup to ensure smooth lunchtime service.

Applicants should have kitchen or catering experience, be reliable and punctual, and able to work with a team. DBS checks or Update Service are required, and references covering the last 2 years may be requested. The shift runs Monday to Friday, 09:15–15:00, totaling about 28.75 hours per week.

Competenze

• Have previous kitchen or catering experience.
• Are available to start ASAP.
• Are reliable, hardworking and punctual.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Have a positive attitude and professional approach.
• Can provide professional references covering the last 2 years of employment and/or education.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service OR are willing to purchase an Enhanced DBS.
• Are happy working in a busy school kitchen environment.

Empowering Learning Group are working with a school in Durham who are looking for an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join their catering team.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an important role in helping the school kitchen run smoothly and ensuring pupils receive their meals in a safe and efficient environment.

• Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals
• Preparing ingredients and carrying out basic food preparation
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
• Cleaning kitchen areas, equipment and work surfaces
• Helping to set up and clear dining areas
• Supporting the catering team during busy lunchtime periods
