About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that residents will love. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, showing new starters how to use equipment, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, or those willing to obtain an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. Strong organizational skills, good record keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should feel confident in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
