Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at our Lutterworth home to support 66 residents with a caring and respectful approach. You will work 30 hours per week, with pay from £12.96 to £13.32 per hour depending on qualifications, and benefits including DBS funding and holiday pay.

Full training is provided; prior catering experience helps, but is not essential as Prime Life supports you with the necessary training. A strong, patient, compassionate approach is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages per residents' dietary needs.
• Perform quality checks on prepared food and storage.

• Keep kitchen hygienic and assist with deep cleaning tasks.

Job description

Make a difference every day and give back to your community! This role will be based at Lutterworth Country House, in the heart of Bitteswell near Lutterworth. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 66 residents, living with a range of age related, physical and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with early onset and advance stages of Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident's individual abilities. Prime Life offer free transport links for applicants living within Leicester, with daily transport running from our central location to the home in time for the start and end of your shifts!

Responsibilities of our Kitchen Assistant include

• Preparing meals, snacks and beverages in line with our residents' dietary requirements
• Undertaking quality checks on food prepared and food being stored
• Assisting with food service to allow our residents a dignified dining experience
• Maintaining stock records in line with company policy and food safety regulations
• Ordering stock and maintaining accurate records
• Maintaining a hygienic and tidy kitchen and supporting with deep cleaning tasks

What we're looking for in our Kitchen Assistant

To be successful within this role, you will have a genuine caring nature and a desire to make a real difference for our residents. You will be an experienced Cook, ideally holding a Food Hygiene and/or Catering qualification, though this is not essential as Prime Life can support you with the training necessary for this role.
