As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in helping our nursery Chef deliver delicious, nutritious meals to fuel the day’s learning and play. You’ll be the backbone of the kitchen, supporting meal prep, keeping everything sparkling clean, and making sure mealtimes run smoothly and safely for the children and team.

What you’ll be doing…
  • Supporting the Chef in preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks
  • Washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
  • Keeping the kitchen and equipment clean, safe, and hygienic
  • Washing dishes and utensils throughout the day
  • Receiving and storing food deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Supporting with stock checks and food rotation
  • Assisting in ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are adhered to
  • Helping with mealtime set-up and clean-up around the nursery
  • Following all food hygiene, health and safety procedures
Our Kitchen Assistants should have…
  • Experience working in a kitchen or food prep environment (nursery/education setting a bonus!)
  • A good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 1 Food Hygiene preferred)
  • A reliable, can-do attitude with attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions
  • A love for healthy food and supporting children’s wellbeing
  • Willingness to complete relevant training as needed
