Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Brick Lane School, London E2 6DY
Salary: GBP 12.50 per hour
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Brick Lane School in East London, part of Options Autism, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our catering team.

Purpose of the Role

Assist the Catering Manager with food preparation, kitchen cleaning, and ensuring meal standards are met.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks
  • Clean all kitchen areas, equipment, and surfaces, including servery and dining areas.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Prepare and serve food and meals across all sites.
  • Set up service and dining areas.
  • Manage food stock supplies and notify the Catering Manager of needs.
  • Support additional hours for functions or staff absence, with prior notice.
  • Transport food and equipment as required.
  • Lift equipment and operate dishwashers and other kitchen machinery.
  • Empty bins and manage waste disposal.
  • Use facilities such as the basement at Chapel Street for dishwashing and resource access.

Qualifications: Food Hygiene preferred

Work-Life Balance
