Job summary

Elior UK is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Claridge House within Caterplus in Littlehampton. This role focuses on delivering warm, community-minded service and maintaining clean, well-presented kitchen spaces while supporting chefs and handling basic prep when needed.

You will learn the menu, ensure safety and cleanliness, and contribute to smooth kitchen operations in a friendly, team-oriented environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
• Ability to work at the front line in a kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen areas clean, organized and well stocked.
• Support chefs and assist with basic food prep as needed.
• Provide accurate information on menu and offers to customers.
• Operate till and handle transactions when required.
• Ensure compliance with COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety rules.

What you'll be doing…

As a Kitchen Assistant you will have plenty of responsibility and opportunity to grow in your role, becoming a critical member of our team.

• Ensure thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of menu and special offers in order to provide relevant information to customers and clients
• Ensure the kitchen area is always clean, well presented and well-stocked
• Support the Chef(s), making sure the kitchen environment is to high standards with ad hoc duties in simple food prep from time to time
• Be responsible for smooth operation of relevant equipment reporting any maintenance issues in line with procedures
• Operate the till point as required, ensuring correct procedures are used
• Ensure that COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to and any incidents are reported in line with procedures
