Kitchen Assistant
Fordingbridge Nursing Home, Hampshire

£13.20 per hour. 30 Hours per Week. Permanent Role

Looking for a rewarding role in a beautiful care home environment?

At Fordingbridge Nursing Home, part of the Allegra Care Group, we're proud to provide a warm, household-style model of care where residents feel truly at home. Mealtimes are a key part of daily life, bringing people together and creating moments of comfort, enjoyment and connection.

We're looking for a friendly, enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our supportive kitchen team and help deliver an exceptional dining experience for our residents.

Whether you're already working in hospitality, catering or care, or simply looking for a role where your work has real purpose, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important part in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious, well-presented meals in a welcoming environment.

You'll be supporting our chefs and kitchen team with:

  • Food preparation and basic kitchen duties
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Washing up and keeping work areas organised
  • Assisting with meal service
  • Helping ensure residents enjoy an excellent dining experience every day
  • Supporting the kitchen team in delivering safe, high-quality catering services
Hours
  • 30 hours per week
  • One weekday shift
  • Every Saturday and Sunday
  • Permanent position
Why Join Allegra Care?

Healthcare is one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors, offering long-term career opportunities and greater stability than many traditional hospitality roles.

Unlike many restaurant, pub and hotel positions, care home catering often provides a more predictable and family-friendly working environment while still allowing you to utilise and develop your hospitality skills.

What We Offer
  • £13.20 per hour
  • Permanent 30-hour contract
  • Supportive and welcoming team environment
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Career progression within a growing care group
  • The chance to build a rewarding career in the healthcare sector
  • A beautiful working environment with modern facilities
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to residents' lives every day
What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from candidates who are:

  • Positive, reliable and hardworking
  • Passionate about delivering excellent service
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Organised and able to maintain high standards of cleanliness
  • Keen to learn and develop their career

Previous kitchen, catering, hospitality or care home experience would be beneficial, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
