As a Kitchen Porter for Sodexo at Hurstpierpoint College, 'Hurst Street', Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 9JS, you will be a key part of the kitchen team. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the kitchen and food & beverage preparation areas. Your cheerful, can-do attitude will make you a valued member of the team.

What You’ll Do:
  • Wash all crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, and equipment, as well as food service equipment.
  • Ensure the following are kept clean and tidy to a very high standard: floors, walls, bins (inside and out), crushing and disposal of cardboard and boxes, fridges & freezers (with assistance from chefs), delivery areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of working areas.
  • Transport provisions, equipment, and other catering-related items as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety, fire, hygiene, and COSHH regulations, ensuring the correct chemicals/detergents are used.
  • Report all accidents (and near misses) to the Chef.
  • Report any shortages in equipment or chemicals to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure all food is prepared with care, especially considering customers' dietary requirements such as allergies.
What You Bring:
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and respect for others.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work standing for long periods (up to 8 hours).
  • No previous work experience required.
