Job summary

Hurstpierpoint College in West Sussex is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our busy campus kitchen. You will help clean equipment, operate industrial dishwashers, and maintain hygienic, well-organised workspaces. The role is full-time, pattern 5 out of 6 days (Mon-Sat) with early starts.

A driving licence is preferred. Training provided, salary £12.90 per hour, and a supportive team environment.

Pay£12.90 per hour


Working Pattern 5 out of 6 (Monday to Saturday)


Shift Time 7:00am- 3:30pm, 11:00am - 7:30pm and 8:00am - 4:30pm business dependent


Driving Lic is required for this position

What You Will Do

Clean heavy and small catering equipment to the required standard using the correct materials and instructions.


Operate industrial dishwashers across multiple catering areas to keep service running smoothly.


Dispose of kitchen waste safely and correctly, maintaining clean, organised workspaces.


Maintain excellent hygiene, complete 3 checks for safety and submit Near Miss cards.


Support chefs with basic food preparation while being mindful of dietary requirements.


Transport provisions and equipment between catering areas to assist the wider team.
