Job summary

Peregrine House in Tottenham is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and maintain clean, well-organised kitchen areas. You will assist with producing breakfast items, preparing vegetables, and assembling sandwiches, while ensuring all equipment and surfaces comply with health and safety standards.

• Assist with preparation of produce for meal time service, including breakfast items, vegetable prep, and sandwiches.
• Ability to stay organised and maintain clean kitchen areas in line with schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist, as directed, with preparation of produce for meal time service.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and areas are cleaned according to schedules.
• Adhere to statutory and Company Health and Safety Regulations.
• Store dry and perishable goods properly after receipt and checking.
• Store cleaning materials safely.
• Wash all crockery, cutlery, and drinking vessels using the main kitchen dishwasher.
• Clean pots, pans, utensils, and containers and store correctly after cleaning.

What does the role involve?

• Assist, as directed, with the preparation of produce for meal time service this may include cooking of breakfast items, vegetable preparation and the making of sandwiches.
• To ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to the cleaning schedules. Therefore, you must have the ability to be organised.
• To ensure statutory and Company Health and Safety Regulations are adhered to.
• To ensure correct storage of all dry and perishable cook chill goods as soon as possible after receipt and checking.
• To ensure the correct, safe storage of cleaning materials.
• To ensure that all crockery, cutlery and drinking vessels for resident’s use are thoroughly cleaned using the main kitchen dish washing machine.
• To ensure that all pots, pans, cooking utensils and service counter containers are cleaned to the required standards and correctly stored after cleaning.
