About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by residents. You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether managing food supplies, demonstrating equipment to new starters, or cleaning, your focus will always be on resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally holding an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willing to obtain one. Strong organizational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. Attendance at safeguarding training and related courses is required, along with the ability to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
