Akari Care Limited in Gateshead is seeking a part-time Kitchen / Catering Assistant working 16 hours over two days, with alternate weekends. The role collaborates with the cook and catering team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and personalised resident meals.

Responsibilities include menu creation, plating, trolley arrangement, and consideration of residents' cultural and religious needs to provide a high-quality, compassionate service.

Whilst you will be involved in all the practical duties you would expect in a busy care home kitchen it is vitally important to continuously ensure that you are mindful and conscious to individual religious and cultural backgrounds and how this might impact on meal choices, alongside making sure that all our residents feel they have a personalised service.

As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all our residents individual needs are catered for.

Qualifications
Essential
  • Experience in a similar environment, kitchen and food preparation experience, Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, a caring nature, flexibility, ability to work under pressure, warm and engaging persona, respect for others, resilience.
