Job summary

The Mill on the Exe is a contemporary pub near Exeter city centre inviting applications for a Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly team. You’ll help with food preparation, operate the dishwasher, and keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe for service.

This entry-level role is ideal for someone starting in a commercial kitchen, with in-house training, family-friendly hours and staff discounts on meals, drinks and stays at our pubs. St Austell Brewery is an Equal Opportunities employer.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; suitable for someone starting in a commercial kitchen.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and follow step-by-step guidance.
• Willing to learn food safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and plating as needed.
• Operate the dishwasher and maintain clean pots, pans and utensils.
• Keep kitchen areas clean, tidy and safe during and after service.
