Job description

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant

Position Details: This is a full-time role working 30 hours per week. The available shifts are 9-3 or 7:30-6:30. Full flexibility is required.

Responsibilities:
  1. Help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by our residents.
  2. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.
  3. Assist with maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures.
  4. Show new starters how to use kitchen equipment.
  5. Ensure resident wellbeing is always prioritized in your work.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Some kitchen experience preferred.
  • Possession of NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willingness to study for it.
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Kind and considerate communication with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding:

All colleagues must recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. Attendance at safeguarding training is mandatory, along with additional role-specific training.
