About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Your responsibilities include managing food supplies, maintaining fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff on equipment, and cleaning up spills, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to attain one. Strong record-keeping, organizational skills, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All staff must attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and pursue additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
