Job summary

Stow Healthcare Group is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team in one of our UK care homes. You will work with a chef to prepare meals for residents and keep the kitchen clean and efficient.

The role covers 24 hours per week with shifts 7:30am–3:30pm and 11:30am–7:30pm, available on alternate weekends, offering a friendly, supportive team and opportunities to learn in a busy kitchen. No prior experience is required as full training is provided and you will become a valued member

Qualifications

• Some previous experience in a kitchen environment.
• Full training can be provided if you do not have experience.
• Flexibility, patience, caring attitude and a real 'people person'.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple meals with support from the chef.
• Keep the kitchen tidy and hygienic.
• Support catering colleagues and maintain smooth kitchen operations.

Kitchen Assistant

As part of our catering team, you are fundamental to the smooth running of the home every day for our residents. Supported by a chef, you will ensure that high-quality meals are prepared according to taste and need. You will take pride in keeping your kitchen environment spotless, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.

The skills you’ll need

To join us as a Kitchen Assistant, you will benefit from having some previous experience working in a kitchen environment, but consideration will also be given to an enthusiastic candidate who wants to start in a catering environment for the first time. You will feel at home in keeping the kitchen tidy, completing scheduled tasks and supporting your catering colleagues. You will be happy to prepare simple meals with support from the chef.
