Job summary

Active Care Group in Birmingham is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support the catering team and deliver high-quality meals for residents. The role involves food preparation, staff catering duties, and assisting with special functions in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

You will work 37.5 hours per week over a 7-day pattern from 7:30am to 6pm, with responsibilities including presentation of meals, adherence to dietary instructions, and maintaining hygiene across kitchen and dining areas

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food to meet requirements of planned menus.
• Preparation of the staff restaurant and vending areas for service as required.
• Presentation and service of staff meals and beverages.
• Preparation and distribution of all function and hospitality work across the site.
• Assisting in the assembly and distribution of patient meals where required ensuring that temperatures of food are monitored and recorded.
• Operation of the dishwashing machine as required.
• Ensure all equipment used in the kitchen and dining room is clean and hygienic.
• Assist the Chef in preparing for special functions as required.
• Ensure any special dietary instructions are correctly followed.

Come and join one of the UK’s largest providers in complex care. We’d like you to join us as a Kitchen Assistant at our service Hunters Moor in Birmingham. Hunters Moor accommodates patients requiring neuro rehabilitation, which may include complex physical rehabilitation needs. We have onsite chefs that freshly prepare meals for all our residents ensuring every dish is of the highest quality. Our physiotherapy gym allows residents to regain cognitive abilities whilst aiding them in the recovery process. We have a private spacious garden, which allows residents to enjoy the outdoors at their own leisure in a safe environment.

What you'll be working:

37.5 hours per week over 7 days 3/4/3/4 shift pattern 7.30am-6pm

What you'll be doing:

To work closely with the catering team ensuring a high quality food service for the patients / service users and staff
