Job summary

Inspire Neurocare, part of Care Concern Group, is recruiting a Kitchen Assistant in Basingstoke to support meal preparation and delivery for adults with neurological needs. You will work with the kitchen team, assist with menu-based cooking and ensure dietary requirements are met with safe handling and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals for the people we support.
• Chop, mix, portion and assemble ingredients; support basic cooking per planned menus.

• Assist with stock rotation, storage and temperature checks to meet dietary needs.

Meadow View Neurological Centre is a purpose-built specialist neurological care and rehabilitation centre in Basingstoke, Hampshire. Our experienced team provides personalised care and rehabilitation for adults with complex neurological conditions and injuries, supporting people to achieve greater independence and quality of life. With modern facilities, dedicated therapy spaces and a welcoming environment, colleagues have the opportunity to work as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team and make a meaningful difference every day.

• £16,117.52 per annum
• 24 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension and uniform provided
• 28 days annual leave (pro rata for part time), inclusive of Bank Holidays

Role Overview

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team with the preparation and delivery of nutritious, high quality meals for the people we support.

Working alongside the chefs, the role includes food preparation such as chopping, mixing, portioning and assembling ingredients, as well as supporting basic cooking and meal preparation in line with planned menus and individual dietary requirements.

You will help maintain high standards of food hygiene and safe working practices, including stock rotation, food storage and temperature checks. The role also involves supporting the kitchen team to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of individuals, including texture-modified and specialist diets.

A caring and sensitive approach is important when working around people with neurological conditions, including those who may have cognitive, physical or communication difficulties.
