We are seeking a Kit Room Technician to support the day-to-day duties of our Dublin facility. The Kit Room Technician will play a vital role in ensuring our business runs smoothly and our customers are satisfied. The right candidate will be process-driven with a good degree of flexibility, initiative, and common sense.
You will enjoy problem solving and learning how to use technical equipment. This role involves working independently most of the time, so motivation, a positive outlook, and a practical, hands-on approach are essential. The ability to manage workload, work to strict deadlines, and pay attention to detail is crucial.
The successful candidate will receive extensive training to learn all processes related to our Kit Room operations: logistics, administration, driving, check-in/check-out, and support. You will develop various skills and gain a detailed understanding of industry equipment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage daily duties in the Kit Room, including logistics, deliveries, collections, and customer service.
- Build and test technical equipment for hire.
- Handle Goods In: receive deliveries, process paperwork, and check equipment condition.
- Manage Goods Out: prepare and load outbound collections.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Ensure compliance with legislation for warehousing and handling.
- Maintain health, safety, hygiene, and security standards.
- Manage paperwork, inventory control, stock counts, and handle client/supplier queries.
- Maintain good housekeeping within the facility.
- Prepare goods for shipping, book shipments, and follow up on arrivals.
- Receive and process new products, update asset management systems.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock control systems.
- Drive vans for equipment delivery and collection, sometimes involving early starts/late finishes.
- Clean equipment carefully, considering technical complexity.
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and raise capacity issues when needed.
Other Duties:
- Operate electric stackers (training provided).
- Make cables (training provided).
- Perform PAT testing (training provided).
- Maintain mechanical carts (training provided).
- Monitor calibration (training provided).
Candidate Requirements:
- Manual driving license.
- Flexible attitude to work arrangements and hours.
- Ability to meet deadlines with consistent results.
- Physically active, able to move and handle equipment.
- Practical DIY skills and common sense.
- Conscientious, positive, and able to work under pressure.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Discretion working in sensitive areas.
- Computer literacy: MS Office, Excel, Word, Apple, with ability to learn new programs.
Desirable but not essential:
- Interest in electronics, computers, AV, or film equipment.
- Experience with technology and DIY.
- Higher education.
- Knowledge of Carnet or ATA Carnet.
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, AVID Media Composer, or Pomfort Silverstack.
Working Conditions:
- Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours/week, with some weekend hours occasionally.
- Hours: 8 am to 6 pm, with shift flexibility.
- 30 days holiday per year, including bank holidays.
